It's Week 3 of Hobbit Month!! In this episode (180), Liz and Heather sit down to talk to our awesome friend Bry-Fy the Comics Guy about The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King (2003). We had SO much to cover in this movie and we were thrilled to have Bryan along for the ride! We talk about communication skills, brutal death scenes, orgasmic battle charges, and murderous Hobbit-people.

Sep 11, 2020

Welcome back to Week 2 of Hobbit Month (ep. 179) where we dig in to The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers (2002) with returning guest, Jessica Hahn! We talk about storylines, relationships between characters, and trailers that ruin big movie surprises!

You might remember Jess from our Clueless episode back in April, along with her other appearances on the show! Next week's guest will be Bryan from the Bry-Fy Podcast!

Aug 27, 2020

In this quick episode, we introduce our upcoming theme month to celebrate Liz's birthday! We will be Talkin' Tolkien (aka Hobbit Month... Septembshire... or many... many other names!). We will have an entire month devoted to the works of J.R.R. Tolkien in the world of Middle-earth. We will also have some awesome guests joining us, so you won't want to miss this!

Week 1 - The Fellowship of the Rings (movie) with Diana from Happily Ever Aftermath

Week 2 - The Two Towers (movie) with Jessica (previously heard on Clueless, Intro to Cosplay, Geek Crushes)

Week 3 - The Return of the King with Bryan from The Bry-Fy Podcast

Week 4 - BOOK CLUB - The Hobbit with Sara from From Bell to Bell Podcast (also previously heard on our Heather's episode)

It's episode 176 Liz and Heather discuss the difficulties of shopping during a pandemic. Listen for our grocery perils -- where is the damn string cheese!?

There's also Online Shopping, the savior during the pandemic. Although, Heather may be going a bit overboard on her overseas purchases.

Aug 2, 2020

It's episode 175 and we are diving in to why Grandpa Joe is Trash and exploring other "beloved" characters from the worlds of books, movies, and television who are actually garbage humans. In the first half of the episode, we give our favorite trash pandas, and then in the second half, the Twitterati weigh in!

In episode 174, Liz and Heather dive into the Disney+ release of Hamilton... finally!! This is a show that Liz had never seen, and was apparently the last person on Earth to do so. We talk about the music, the history, and the problematic parts of both the musical AND our country's history. We also dive into the accessibility of the arts, how important they are to our society as a whole, and go on a rant about how much things HAVEN'T changed. Also, we need justice for Breonna Taylor. Now.

Note: We also have huge lady crushes on Daveed Diggs.

This week the Nerdy Bitches book club is back in Episode 173. We review the first book in Brandon Sanderson's Mistborn series, The Final Empire.

Listen in as we talk about all about allomancy, 1000 years of tyranny, and eating metal. This was a new series for Liz and Heather prior to the recommendation, so we will talk about if we want to continue with the series.

In episode 172, Liz and Heather are NOT OKAY... not even a little. We sit down after a very long time since we last recorded to update you on how things have progressed since our last dumpster fire episode. Spoilers: The dumpster has been moved to the dump, and now the entire dump is on fire.

We talk about the instability in the world, Black Lives Matter, racist dickbags, and how Liz nearly died (and not figuratively either). We also talk a lot about the importance of voting and how we can make a difference to be a better person every day and to remain allies to anyone we can.

Note: You will notice a VERY abrupt cut to commercials... and if you stick around after the end music, you will hear exactly what happened.

Jun 5, 2020

In episode 171, Liz and Heather sit down to talk about their favorite Life Hacks. Now you aren't going to hear about our favorite apps or cloud backups... no you are going to hear how we life-hacked back in the 1990's. When the internet was new, and pagers were a thing!

Listen in to find out what song Heather spent 11 hours downloading from Napster (hint: it is embarrassing) and what clothing style Liz desperately wants to bring back.

May 12, 2020

In episode 170, Liz and Heather follow up Mean Girls Month by talking about Makeovers - Movies vs. Reality! We covered a couple of makeovers last month, but we went through some iconic movie makeovers and we talk about how good or bad they are.

Apr 25, 2020

In episode 168 we wrap up Mean Girls month with Heathers. In this episode Liz and Heather are joined by former teacher and current podcaster Sara Candela.

The best part is.. Liz had not seen this movie prior to the podcast. So we got to talk about first impressions and misconceptions of what she had expected. What held up? What makes no sense? Also, why do rich girls wear double breasted blazers in California?

Listen in for the last movie in Mean Girls month, and we saved the most disturbed for last.

Apr 17, 2020

Welcome back to Mean Girls Month!  This week we talk about the modern classic film, Clueless.

Now we know that maybe Cher and Dionne are not the meanest mean girls out there, but they certainly brought the laughs.

In addition, Heather and Liz are joined by Jess, a past guest, teacher, librarian and all around official funny bitch!

Back in the 90's this was the show, the outfits, and the life.  Does it hold up now that we are adults?  Listen in and see.

Apr 11, 2020

It's Mean Girls Month! All April we are going to celebrate the trope of the Mean Girls in High School. The bitches we love to hate.

In episode 167 we are joined by the incomparable Lanie Bradbury and we discuss if 'fetch' is ever going to happen ... oh and rain predicting boobs.

Apr 4, 2020

It's Mean Girls Month! All April we are going to celebrate the trope of the Mean Girls in High School. The bitches we love to hate.

In Episode 166 we go back to the 70's where mean girls thrived... especially in this high school. Unfortunately those mean girls don't realize they are bullying an emotionally unstable girl who can impale you with random objects using only her mind. Yes we know that Carrie is a horror movie, but we can't ignore the trope.

Listen in and spend some laughs ... and screams... with the Nerdy Bitches as they review Carrie.

Apr 1, 2020

In episode 165, Liz and Heather talk about an idea for taking care of yourself and your home during this trying time... and we cover Tidying Up with Marie Kondo: Quarantine Edition! Listen in as we talk about the Netflix series with the same name and Ms. Kondo's best selling book - The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up. Liz and Operaman went through the first three categories about a year ago, so she shares her experiences, in what worked long-term and what didn't.

Mar 21, 2020

What a year this week has been! In Episode 164, we sit down to talk about how 2020 is a Dumpster Fire. We are practicing social distancing (which is what we prefer to do anyway), not hoarding toilet paper, and eating ALL the Little Debbie snack cakes. Listen in as we do a 1st Quarter review on this shitty year. We are just getting started, y’all.

In the second half of the show, Heather shares an article letting us all know about the best streaming watches that won’t provoke your anxiety!

Mar 7, 2020

In episode 163, Liz and Heather sit down and play a game of Would You Rather... and the results are in! Also, we would both like to thank Random Randy Savage, B.Rob, and Bry-Fy for taking over the show last week... and to apologize to our listeners. The FULL UNALTERED episode of their takeover will be available on our Patreon page shortly. For as little as $1, you too can hear all the madness!

Feb 29, 2020

In episode 162, Liz and Heather got lost in space and time and were unable to record an episode... so some special friends stepped in and recorded one for us... and it is unlike anything you have ever heard on Nerdy Bitches Podcast!! A big thanks to Random Randy Savage , B.Rob , and Bry-Fy the Comics Guy  for stepping up to the plate!

Disclaimer: The views and opinions and insanity on this show do not reflect the opinions of Nerdy Bitches Podcast or their partners... or apparently the Bry-Fy Podcast 🤣

Enjoy!

In our most recent episode 161, we continue our Book Club with the continuation of the Harry Potter series - Book 4: Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.

And Guess What?! By Popular demand, we brought back Random Randy Savage from the Cult 45 podcast as well!  Be there for the page turning thrills that is Hogwarts, and why it is the most dangerous place in the world.... so why does everyone send their children there?

So put your name in the Goblet of Fire and see if you will be picked as the Hogwarts champion!

Feb 14, 2020

In episode 160, Liz and Heather break out their best Dating Advice for Nerds! Since we have both been off the dating market for a while, we also reached out to our amazing social media followers for their best Dos and Don'ts for a modern dating world.

Feb 7, 2020

In Episode 159 Liz and Heather talk about the best and the worst of slang from the last decade. The 2010's had a slang that we will never forget and some that we want desperately to stay away from the 2020's.

Jan 31, 2020

In Episode 158, Liz and Heather welcome Steve and Izzy from Everything I Learned From Movies to the podcast for the first time to talk about 1999's Lake Placid. Oliver Platt, Betty White swearing, and BEAVERS?! What the hell are we talking about??

Settle in to listen to us discuss this awesome terrible movie (along with a ridiculous number of other awesome/terrible movies we have seen and may need to discuss in the future! Everything I Learned From Being a Nerdy Bitch??)!

Jan 24, 2020

In Episode 157 we bring back our Book Club! In the 1st book in the His Dark Materials by Philip Pullman, we are introduced to The Golden Compass ... well the book is called Northern Lights if you are from outside North America. Why? Who knows...

Join Liz and Heather as they discuss excellent parenting, living in a steam-punk world, and daemons! Listen in to our spoilerific walk-through of The Golden Compass. Note: this also spoils the first season of His Dark Materials on HBO.
